Abstract

581,637. Extrusion and injection-moulding machines. ARON, E., and POLLARD, E. Jan. 19, 1945, No. 1630. [Class 87 (ii)] In an extrusion head of the kind having an external helical heating channel 75 encircled by a sleeve 77, the sleeve has ports 81, 82, which communicate with opposite ends of the channel. An outer casing 76 encircles the sleeve and i s spaced therefrom by longitudinally-extending ribs 79. Hot fluid enters the casing through pipe 86, passes between two of the ribs 79 and through port 81, along channel 75, and out through port 82, the inter-rib space and pipe 88. A transverse partition 97 divides the inter-rib space into entry and exit channels. Specifications 581,605 and 581,606 are referred to.
