[Class 45] A flexible gate for a lift &c. comprises a plurality of vertical pickets united by horizontal links d provided with bosses d<SP>1</SP> whereby they are journalled on the pickets. The bosses on contiguous links are directed oppositely, as shown. The picket may be built up of a number of short rods h united by inner tubes g taking over nuts i screwed on the rods, and by outer tubes e, which may take over the bosses d<SP>1</SP> or over washers f. The tubes e may be of glass, phenolic condensation product, casein product, stainless steel, bronze, or other ornamental material, and may be replaced by plates mounted on the links d and forming a closed structure. The pickets are supported by grooved wheels b running on a rail c located either at the top or at the bottom of the gate.
