Abstract
581,549. Anodes for electrodeposition of nickel. MOND NICKEL CO., Ltd., and PFEIL, L. B. Sept. 13, 1944, No. 17504. [Class 41] A plating anode and at least the shank of its suspension hook are both made of electrodeposited nickel; the shank may be integral with the anode or a part thereof or may be united thereto by spot-welding. The actual hooks where not exposed to splashing may be of other metal, e.g., wrought nickel. The anode may comprise a number of laminas spotwelded together, the suspension hook being integral with an intermediate lamina ; the hook may be twisted so that the edges of the laminations are presented to the cathode. Projections may be provided on one member at the parts to be welded. The anode shown in Fig. 5 comprises two sheets 4 between which hooks 2 are mounted and secured by spot-welding. The plates 4. may be spot-welded to intermediate discs 8 of electrolytic nickel. In the anode shown in Fig. 6 the hooks 10 are formed by shearing from the edges of the sheet 1 ; one or more spot-welds may be made at the parts where there is double thickness of metal.
