Abstract

580,345. Chains. KING & CO. (LEEDS), Ltd., J., and HOOLEY, F. W. July 4, 1944, No. 12713. [Class 24] In a chain constructed of a number of inner links 3 joined by outer links comprising separate members 5 and in which the links are jointed by detachable pins 6, the members 5 have a hole 11 at or about each end with a slot 12 leading therefrom towards said end, the hole receiving the head 9 of a pin 6 which has a reduced neck 8 which can enter the slot while the head 9 passes through the bole into a recess 13. The head 9 is thus held, when the chain is extended, behind shoulders formed by the edges of the slot. The links 3 may have stops on their outer faces to restrict longitudinal motion of members 5. The head 9 may have one or more flats thereon to prevent the pin rotating when in position.
