565,159. Driving chains. RATHKE, D. P. June 8, 1943, No. 9174. [Class 24] In conveyer &c. chains of the type comprising flat inner and outer links 9, 10, Fig. 2, the apertures 13, Fig. 3, of the outer links have keyways 11 disposed symmetrically about the central axis of the links, and the apertures 14, Fig. 4, of the inner links have a keyway 12 disposed on the axis. The joint pin 15 has keys 17, 18 in line so that it can be inserted through the apertures when the links are disposed with the keyways in alignment ; the key 17 locks the pin to the inner link and the key 18 and a collar on the pin engages the outer sides of the outer links in their normal working positions. Instead of the collar, a third key may be provided on the pin, and the chain may be multi-stranded.
