580,133. Filters. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and LE CLAIR, C. C. S. May 15, 1944, No. 9287. [Class 46] A filtering element for use with liquids comprises a textile part consisting of at least one layer of finely-woven fabric on which is supported at least one layer of filtering-felt, the textile part being mounted upon and surrounding a rigid pervious hollow supporting frame. As shown, a layer 10 of filtering-felt surrounds a layer 14 of linen or other woven fabric, as for example, silk, artificial silk, or fine wire gauze which is arranged around a pervious frame 11. Reinforcing strips 12, 13 of felt are provided, which may be placed as shown outside the fabric 14, or alternatively between the fabric and the frame 11. The ends of the filtering material are held in cement or equivalent material 15, 16. The cement may also be applied to the frame 11 as described in Specification 580,132.
