578,886. Condensers. WAYMOUTH GAUGES & INSTRUMENTS. Ltd., and WAYMOUTH, H. Dec. 30, 1943, Nos. 21867/43 and 2600/44. [Class 37] A series of condenser elements each comprising plates 20, 21 is flexibly mounted as on a tape &c. 22 the elements being connected in parallel, the inner plates 21 through a metallic band 29, the outer plates through flexible leads 30, so that the assembly can be collapsed if desired to pass through a relatively small aperture, such as the hand hole of an aircraft petrol tank 23, wherein the condensers are used in a circuit for indicating the volume of petrol. The plates 20, 21 are held apart by a series of cruciform spacers 26, of artificial resin, alternately in planes at right angles, the side wings passing through slots in the plates to be held on the other side by metal clips 28 secured by a rivet.
