578,829. Filters. WESTWOOD RIM & PATENTS, Ltd., and WESTWOOD, S. C. Jan. 9, 1945, No. 782. [Class 46] A filter comprises a wire gauze or perforated sheet a, Fig. 2, bent to cylindrical or equivalent form and supported by interior and exterior frames b, c, the edges of the frame c being turned inwardly to pass between the adjacent edges of the sheet a and frame b, and a locking piece e being slid over the edges of the frame c. The frames b, c are formed with gaps to expose the permeable member a. In a modification shown in Fig. 4, the edges of the inner frame bare turned outwardly and pass between the adjacent edges of the parts a, c, the edges of the part a being folded over the edges of the frame c. The filter may be of truncated conical form, or of elliptical or polygonal cross-section.
