Abstract

578,418. Letting-off warps in looms. WRIGHT & SONS Ltd., M., and WILLIAMSON, W. Feb. 16, 1944, No. 2844. [Class 142 (ii)] Warp tension. ing apparatus particularly applicable to narrow fabric looms, such as those described in Specifications 528,738. 528,90( and 566,922, has a brake drun geared to a warp beam which is removable leaving the brake drum in position. The beam 20 is geared with the brake drum 11 around which is wrapped a flexible braking element 17, having one end fastened to the loom frame 10 and the other to a spring-biassed lever 13 supporting a bar 16 over which the warp W passes. The beam spindle 22 rests in L-shaped slots' in two support brackets; to remove the beam it is drawn along the slots until the gear teeth unmesh and then is lifted out.
