[Class 60] [Also in Group V] An abrasive file for severing the necks of glass ampoules comprises a rigid moulded mass of non-metallic abrasive material, for example, silicon carbide and a plastic substance, for example, a cold-setting synthetic resin, there being a substantial concentration of the' abrasive material along the cutting-edge ; an inert filler, for example, silica and a dye may be incorporated in the mass. In the manufacture of the files, a mould comprising a bar 10 with V-shaped grooves and end bars 12 is used ; a quantity of the abrasive material is shaken over the mould, and the mixture of abrasive material, filler, &c. then is poured into the mould and the material hardened by stoving.
