Abstract

576,068. Electric cables. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd., McKERROW, A. K., and MILLS, E. W. Dec. 21, 1943, No. 21402. [Class 36] The metal armouring braided or helically wrapped upon a thermoplastic insulation is embedded in or filled with insulation by applying a paste or dough of material compatible with the insulation and after completing the armouring the material is converted to a gel. The insulation consists of a polyvinyl-chloride compound and the dough consists of a similar compound ungelled. The cable may be wrapped in tape or covered with a temporary lead sheath before heat treatment. Specification 574,139 is referred to.
