Abstract
575,902. Applying or removing screw stoppers. WAGER, C. E., and WILKINS, A. Jan. 21, 1944, No. 1170. [Class 125 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIII] A device for unscrewing or screwing on the stopper of a beer &c. bottle consists of a tubular socket 12 in an aperture 24 in which a lever 14 is pivoted in such a way that when the stoppered end of the bottle is pressed against it a projection 27 is caused to engage the periphery so that the stopper is gripped to permit rotation. Socket 12 is secured on a plate 15, 19, flange 19 being secured to a support and flange 15 having one or more apertures which serve as crown cork removers.
