575,584. Spinning mules. FAIRCLOUGH, R. March 28, 1944, No. 5688. [Class 120 (ii)] In a spinning mule the setting-on rod A is connected bv a rod G to a second rod D on the opposite side of the headstock and substantially parallel to the rod A the end of the rod D being slidably connected to the upper end of a lever E which operates the rod E<1> controlling the down strap forks so that when the rod A is moved to change the belt from the fast to the loose pulley the lever E is pushed over on to its retaining catch k ; the lever E is extended below its pivot e<1> and carries a roller F which contacts an inclined plane or cam M on the brake pedal lever W so that movement of the lever E on to its catch applies the brake which is then held on by the catch P engaging the projection w.
