574,754. Reducing valves. DAVIS, SIR R. H. Feb. 15, 1944, No. 2811. [Class 135] [Also in Group VI] Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical remote control means are provided for byepass valves incorporated in or associated with pressure-reducing valves, particularly for use in breathing or anµsthesia apparatus. As shown, the reducing valve 1, interposed between the gas supply pipe 2 and delivery nipple 5, incorporates a byepass valve 8 mounted on a flexible diaphragm 14 and opened, to admit gas through chamber 15, channel 16 and byepass 17 to delivery 5, by the Bowden cable 25, which actuates the valve plunger 12 by means of lever 18 pivoted at 19 and buffers 13 and 22. The cable is actuated by the pivoted lever 27 which may be mounted on a diver's belt or in anµsthesia apparatus disposed conveniently for foot or knee operation.
