Abstract

574,600. Bedsteads. ARMSTRONG, L. Feb. 7. 1944, No. 2194. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iv)] A bedstead is built up of two or more sections 1, 2 and 3 coupled together by bracing plates 8 and bolts 9, each section having studs 18, to receive the eyelets of transverse replaceable coil springs. The end sections are supported by foldable U-shaped frames 4 and the middle by legs 7. If the sections are tubular they are coupled together by tubes or rods. Fig. 6 shows a side section carrying the studs 18 in recesses 17. Fig. 7 shows the bedstead with detachable ornamental side pieces and ends. Folding head and footrests 5 and 6 are provided. The transverse springs may be fitted into separate sections which may then be fitted into the bedstead. One or more longitudinal springs may be added.
