Abstract

572,976. Filing cabinets. CONSTRUCTORS, Ltd., and FINER, H. J. April 21, 1944, No. 7471. [Class 146 (i)] In a filing cabinet or like article of furniture having a drawer or drawer! each incorporating a compressor, the com pressor 1 has guide plates 5 at its sides snugly engaging grooves 6 in the sides of the drawer to maintain it in a vertical position, and is locked against move ment in one direction by spring-urged pawl! 9 pivoted on th( plates 5 and engaging racks 11 of wavy formation formed by depressions in the lower walls of the grooves 6, release being effected by the operation of a handle 16. By the provision of two nose portions 12, 13 on the pawl for engaging the rack 11, the locking effect is increased.
