Abstract
572,795. Air filters. CHEMA MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and SIGMUND, M. Dec. 24, 1941, No. 16650. [Class 8 (ii)] An air filter is formed by winding a band of paper A into a spiral cylinder, corrugated paper C or other spacing means being interposed between the turns of the spiral, e.g., by winding the two together so that air can flow longitudinally, cutting the cylinder radially and sealing an impervious partition in the cut so as to form separate filtering spaces, sealing the odd spaces at one end and the even spaces at the other, and sealing the central space at each end. The end may be sealed by dipping, e.g., in latex, and afterwards removing the latex &c. by a comb or pointed instrument as required.
