572,584. Height adjustable platforms. ALLEN, P. J., and ALLEN & CO. (ENGINEERS), Ltd., A. H. Sept. 6, 1943, No. 14597. [Class 20 (ii)] A work platform 20 is pivoted at the upper end 19 of a ladder 15 which is in turn pivoted at 17 on a fixed inclined support 12 rigidly secured to a wheeled base 1, the inclination of the ladder being varied by a screw and nut gear 32, 39 to adjust the height of the platform 20 which is maintained substantially horizontal by the parallel linkage 25, 12, 15, 29, and member 27. The steps 18 are curved in cross-section to provide a substantially horizontal tread portion at all inclinations of the ladder. The forward wheels 7 are mounted as castors and may be locked by screws 11 to maintain the base stationary. A fitter's bench 44 may be mounted on the base.
