571,853. Hatching and rearing appliances. ADAMS, A. J. Sept. 15, 1943, No. 15108. [Class 5 (ii)] An incubator comprises a hatching compartment. 4 supported in but spaced on all sides from the casing 1, a fan 14 situated close to the airintake 17, and a hot water radiator 15 close to the front wall 6 of the compartment 4. The cross-section of the passage 1 is small relative to that of the incubation chamber-and the air velocity undiminished in its passage from the fan to the chamber. The end 7a of.the compartment is open, and a baffle 16 masks both the radiator 15 and an opening 13 in the wall 6. Regulating slides are fitted to the openings 13, 17 and to the vents 18, 19. Humidity is maintained by water in troughs 28, 29. Temperature may be regulated thermostatically, and alarm means provided to indicate excessive variation.
