Abstract
569,271. Ball thrust bearings. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON. March 3, 1944, No. 4028. Convention date, May 1, 1943. [Class 12 (i)] In a single-ball thrust bearing, the ball 7 is held in a pin 5 which is inserted in the spindle 4 and serves as one member of a lateral thrust guard. The other member consists of the piece 3 which is mounted together with the cup or jewel 2 in the base 1. The ball is secured within a recess 6 in the spindle by pressing over the edge of the recess or by magnetising both spindle 5 and ball 7.
