Abstract

568,755. Vehicle opening-tops. NORWOOD, J. Aug. 18, 1943, No. 13404. [Class 108 (i)] A segmental aperture b in a vehicle roof-panel is closable by a raised part e of a rotatable disc c with apertures d either of which is registrable with the aperture b by turning a finger piece k of a sleeve j secured to a spindle f attached to the disc c. A finger n on the sleeve j engaging in one of recesses o in the end of the spindle bearing will lock the disc c against rotation until the piece k is pulled down to disengage the finger n. As shown, a deeper one of recesses o allows the finger and the disc to rise, this occurring when tho part e is in position for closing the roof aperture ; lifting of the disc is assisted by a leaf spring i. A pivoted locking- lever p can be raised by axial movement of a stem q to lock the disc c in roof-closing position against movement from outside.
