Abstract

568,492. Engine valve-gear. CARRUTHERS & CO., Ltd., J. H., and JOHNSTONE, G. K. Nov. 17, 1943, No. 19223. [Class 122 (ii)] In a valve-gear for a duplex pump, the valve spindles A<1>, B<1>, each carry projecting lugs E. F engaging one main valve G or H and one cut-off valve L, K working on the back of the other main valve, and guides E<1>, F<1> engaging seats M in the valve chest. Each main valve is operated by the rod of the cylinder other than that which it serves and each cut-off valve is operated by the rod of its own cylinder as described in Specification 177,115, [Class 122 (ii)]. The valves are all flat slab-like members.
