Abstract

567,395. Calculating - apparatus. MAcLEAN, J. D. March 16, 1944, No. 5953/43. [Class 106 (i)]. A device for use in solving problems connected with aerial navigation comprises a sheet having converging lines representing angles of drift, concentric arcs representing air speeds, and coloured lines 6 parallel to the' centre line of the sheet, together with a disc 4, having compass markings and being rotatable about a centre 5 slidable in a slot 3 along the centre of the sheet. The sheet may consist of two plates of plastic material with a metal plate between, the slot 3 being formed in the upper plastic plate and the metal plate. The dial is of transparent plastic with a matt surface so that pencil markings may readily be made thereon.
