Abstract

566,299. Funnels. PETROLEUM BOARD, and NOLAN, W. J. April 15, 1943, No. 6073. [Class 125 (ii)] A funnel, e.g. for refuelling tractors, comprises a boxlike body 7 and downward extensions 8, 9 curved at 10 to fit the surface of the container 1 at a position away from the filling orifice so that the funnel will stand with its neck 3 projecting with the filling orifice, but with a free space 2 around it. An anti-splash rim 12 may be provided which may be apertured so that when the funnel is inverted, residual contents will drain away. A detachable filter 15 and a dipstick 19 may be fitted. The funnel may be sprayed with anti-rust paint, or antirust material such as lead-coated steel plate may be used.
