Abstract
565,434. Electric conductors. PORTER, F. May 6, 1943, No. 7167. [Class 36] An electric conductor, which is especially applicable as an earth or lightning conductor, comprises a strip of metal 10 folded longitudinally on itself to form one fold, Fig. 1, or two folds, Fig. 3, and gripped within the fold is a series of spaced tabs 11, or a continuous tab, which may be formed of metal and be used to join other conductors to the strip 10. The tabs are marked to indicate either the area of the cross-section or the current-carrying capacity of the wire, and with other.marks to indicate the direction of flow of the current, or advice not to cut the wire. In Fig. 1, the marks may be printed alternately on opposite sides of the tab, so that if the outside of the tab is painted the mark can be seen by lifting up the tab.
