[Class 1 (i)] A catalyst for the synthesis of aromatic hydrocarbons is made by impregnating gamma alumina with a solution of a chromium compound followed by rapid drying and conversion of the chromium compound into oxide. The impregnated alumina is preferably dried in a current of hot air. Specification 464,957 is referred to.
