[Class 38 (v)] A spring b is secured at both ends under endwise compression, the ends having opposite curvatures. At about the middle is fixed a contact or contacts g and on each side is placed a fixed contact h. The spring will be biased to make contact with one fixed stop. By pressure on a plunger i the contact g will flick from one stop h to the other, making or breaking a circuit. The spring may be metallic, heated to distort either by an external heating coil or by passage of current. The spring and stops may be so arranged that the spring passes over dead centre and needs actuation in the opposite direc. tion by a second plunger.
