[Class 44] [Also in Group XXIX] Flanged plates used in the construction of storage tanks and the like are connected by clips 21 with bell mouths 22, the clips clamping the flanges 20 against interposed packing 16 which may comprise rubber tubing, square sponge rubber or plaited log line. At corner junctions. Fig. 4, continuity of the packing is preserved as by threading one strip of packing 16 through another or by cementing severed ends of a cross strip of sponge rubber to the side faces of a continuous strip. A jig 27 is used in assembling the plates. Specification 559,884. [Group XXIX]. is referred to.
