558,962. Discharge apparatus. LUBSZYNSKI, H. G., and ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 20, 1942, No. 10062. Addition to 542,496. [Class 39 (i)] In an electron discharge device in which an electron beam travels in a uniform magnetic field parallel to the lines of force, electrons having undesirably high radial velocities are further filtered out by using more than two stops, preferably four. The anode 6 in Fig. 3 of Specification 542,496 may contain four equally spaced stops, the first and third being in the same position as stops 7 and 8, corresponding to the maximum lateral displacement of the electrons.
