[Class 37] [Also in Group XXII] An electric resistance is made from a metal plate by cutting slots g or slits g<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4, terminating in holes d to form a zigzag and then displacing the resultant bars B through 180 degrees so as to face one another without touching: The bends may occur wholly in the metal x beyond the ends of the slits or slots as shown in Fig. 5 or may extend to the bars B, Fig. 9 in which case the plate may be bent first and then cut. The end bars are bent to form hooks c so as to hang the grids on parallel insulated rods in known manner.
