Abstract

555,026. Road vehicles. FOULKES, T. E., and CO-OPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd. June 9, 1942, No. 7846. [Class 108 (i)] A goods transport vehicle comprises a covered body, storage units arranged in parallel rows in the body some of which are laterally movable for providing access to units in the row behind, and means providing access to the storage units of the front row. In the example shown in Figs. 1 and 2 a sice panel of the vehicle has a hinged aprt 11 to provide an awning and another hinged part 12 to provide an extension of a fixed service counter 13 within the van, with show-cases 14, 15 on each side of it and a gangway 19 affording access to the inner side of the showcases 14, 15 when other storage units on their inner side are moved laterally on the rails shown ; in one form a single unit in a row may be hinged to allow of lateral movement of the other units. On the other side of the gangway 19 is a set of fixed shelving and mobile units constructed in accordance with Specification 554,517, [Group XIV]. Specification 470,516, [Group XIV], also is referred to.
