554,343. Lathe centres. WESTON & CO., Ltd., C., and EDNEY, G. H. Dec. 22, 1941, No. 16487. [Class 83 (iii)] A live centre 21 for a lathe is fitted directly in the casing 12 which has an inturned flange 14 serving to support a thrust bearing 15 located between the flange and a collar 16 on the stem 11. The casing is supported on the stem by a ball bearing 13 and an oil seal, which may be made as described in Specification 411,315, [Group XXVI], is located behind the collar 16.
