Abstract

553,125. Spray-producers. AMES, CROSTA, MILLS & CO., Ltd., and BOLTON, J. F. April 24, 1942, No. 5501. [Class 69 (iii)] In a rotary sewage distributer in conjunction with a filter bed in order to obviate unequal distribution if the rotating distributer is not rotating in a truly horizontal plane one arm only of the rotating distributer is provided with discharge apertures with or without weir plates the other arm acting as a self-adjusting balancing arm. As shown one arm only of the rotary trough a is provided with discharge apertures a<SP>1</SP> preferably on both sides, adjustable weir plates e being provided. Ramps f are also provided at the ends of the trough whereby on quickened rotation of the trough being given leaves and other impedimenta may be discharged from the trough a by centrifugal force. The non-effective arm of the trough a acts as a self-adjusting counterpoise. Specification 516,345 is referred to.
