Abstract

552,950. Air cleaners. TALBOYS MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and SMITH, C. G. Feb. 28, 1942, No. 2679. [Class 8 (ii)] Air for carburetters &c. is cleaned by passage over oil-wetted screens 12 resting on a plate 20 and held in position by a cover 11, the oil being conveyed to the screens by wicks 30 leading through holes in the plate 20 from a reservoir either directly to the screens or to an absorbent carpet 31 which facilitates oil transfer. A lining 32 of leather &c. prevents air leakage round the tops of the screens.
