Abstract

552,750. Fusible cut-outs. BESWICK, D. G. E. Nov. 7, 1941, No. 14395. [Class 38 (i)] A clip contact to receive a cartridge fuse comprises a strip of metal bent to form a circular central portion 12 to receive the fuse cap 8, loops 11, parallel side members 9 and mounting feet 4, and having a slot or slots formed in the central portion 12 to cooperate with projections 20 on the fuse cap. The spring action of the portion 12 is increased by a bend 19 and by the side members 9 abutting against it. The feet 4 fit under the bent ends 5 of a strip 6, at the centre of which is a tongue 7 to bear against the end of the fuse. The feet are secured to the support 2 at one or both sides. If the slots in the clip are of bayon form the tongues 7 are dispensed with.
