550,875. Soap. LEVER BROS. & UNILEVER, Ltd. July 26, 1941, No. 9510. Convention date, July 27, 1940. [Class 91] [Also in Group V] Soap is formed with a plane or planes of cleavage to facilitate division by passing the heated material in continuous flow through a conduit 10 fitted with a vane 11, so that the material is divided by the vane and coalesces beyond it, but with a plane of weakness. The temperature may be controlled by using a vane with a chamber 12 fitted with conduits 15 and valves 16 to admit heating or cooling media, and the strength of the bond at the cleavage plane may be modified by discharging into the soap from a reservoir in the vane substances such as acetic acid, saline solutions, gases such as air and mineral oils.
