Abstract
548,449. Label holders. GILBERT & SONS, Ltd., A., and GILBERT, A. July 25, 1941, No. 9426. [Class 73] A label holder for use on steel shelving &c. comprises a member 4 of J or channel shape in cross section, the upstanding front flange 5 of which forms a panel for the label while the shorter upstanding rear flange 6 carries spring members 10 which engage a wooden &c. facing strip 12 located behind the flange 2 of the shelf 1 and resting on an obliquely upturned marginal flange 3 of the shelf. A facing strip 8 of wood &c. may be secured to the flange 5 to carry the label; alternatively, this flange may have secured to it an open-fronted pocket with a side or top opening to receive the label. Instead of the loose facing strip 12, a strip may be secured to the upper ends of the springs 10. In other constructions, the springs are dispensed with, and the flange 6 is threaded to receive clamping screwed adapted to engage the facing strips 12 or the back of the flange 2.
