548,123. Controllers. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and DOLAN, H. May 16, 1941, No. 6323. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (iii)] The controller of a mine winding Ward- Leonard system is operated either by a pilot motor or by a hand lever, similar to the arrangement disclosed in Specification 509,261. According to the present invention a change-over lever is used to clutch selectively the controller to the pilot motor or hand lever and correspondingly to clutch brake means to either a solenoid device or to a hand lever. In order to start the pilot motor, push-buttons can be arranged so that two, at different levels, have to be pressed within a predetermined time interval of each other.
