Abstract
547,843. Wire gauze. GLENFIELD & KENNEDY, Ltd., and BOUCHER, P. L. March 6, 1941. No. 3054. [Class 142 (iv)] [Also in Group I] An ultra-fine twill weave wire-cloth screen is produced by electro-plating a fine metal screen with another metal. The screen may be woven in plain or twill form, of comparatively soft metal, such as copper or bronze, and the deposited metal may be harder or less corrosive, e.g. of nickel or silver. The plating metal unites the warps and wefts of the screen, and reduces the sizes of the apertures by increasing the size of the wires. The apertures may be reduced in size by several hundreds per cent., and are formed by the process in stream-lined configuration. Specification 358,705, [Class 142], is referred to.
