Abstract

546,996. Piston extrusion apparatus. MICHEL, E. Dec. 31, 1941, No. 383. [Class 102 (ii)] Piston extrusion apparatus comprises a piston 80 which engages the longitudinally displaceable bottom 83 of a tubular non-collapsable refill 82 the top of which is closed, except for a hole 84 at or near the top, and to which is directly secured a cap 85 having an egress 86 which registers with the hole 84. The piston 80 may be provided with a stand 81 and a washer 89, whilst the cap 85 may bave a closure member 88 and be screwed at 87 on to the refill 82. The hole 84 may be initially closed by a piece of adhesive tape, and the bottom 83 prevented from shifting during storage by a removable cap or stopper. In a modificaticn the bottom initially rests against an in-turned shoulder at the base of the refill and is sligltly curved at its edge to press resiliently against the inner wall of the refill. The piston fits snugly into this shoulder and the washer is unnecessary.
