544,089. India-rubber compositions. PIRELLI-GENERAL CABLE WORKS, Ltd., BARRON, H., and ASHFORD, B. O. Jan. 23, 1941, No. 916. [Class 70] An electric insulating composition which is liquid at ordinary temperature and sets on standing, suitable for filling joint-boxes &c. consists of a composition of rubber and a mineral oil which becomes vulcanized by the action of vulcanizing agents and an accelerator added just before use. Alternatively the vulcanizing agents or the accelerator may be contained in the composition and the other ingredient added just before use. The composition may contain anti-oxidants and filling materials. In examples, the rubber composition is made up with transformer oil or heavy cylinder oil.
