Abstract
542,440. Metal wool. PYRENE CO., Ltd., and CLIFFORD, W. J. June 7, 1940, No. 10002. [Class 83 (ii)] To increase its resistance to corrosion steel wool has incorporated with it wool of a metal, e.g. zinc, cadmium or aluminium which is more electro-negative than iron. Preferably the weight of the zinc &c. wool is from 10 to 20 per cent of that of the steel wool. If the steel wool is very fine, zinc wool may be introduced into a skein of the steel wool after it has been made but if the steel wool is coarse, steel and zinc wool may be cut simultaneously and united as they are cut.
