Abstract
540,932. Photographic projection printers; colour photography. KODAK, Ltd. (Eastman Kodak Co.). Dec. 31, 1940, No. 18237. Drawing to Specification. [Classes 98 (i) and 98 (ii)] A photographic projection printer includes means for simultaneously moving a printing gate of constant width and a transparency gate relatively to a fixed exposure objective so that correct focus is maintained as the magnification is changed, and means operated by the movement of the transparency gate to mask the width thereof in inverse proportion to the change in magnification. In addition, means may be provided, operated by the movement of the transparency gate for masking its length in inverse proportion to the change in magnification. Means may also be provided for simultaneously altering the widths of both gates, to alter the shape of the resultant print, whilst maintaining the ratio of these lengths proportional to the magnification. The apparatus in connection with which the invention is described is the same as that described in Specification 540,931, for printing from colour transparencies, in which the transparency gate is horizontal and the printing gate is vertical, and a mirror above the former may be moved to direct the beam from the transparency either horizontally to the printing gate, or in the opposite direction to a viewing position where the masking may be seen. Specifications 540,933, 540,934 and 540,935 also are referred to.
