Abstract

540,667. Suspending curtains &c. STARLING, A. T. Nov. 5, 1940. No. 16100. [Class 52 (v)] Curtains and the like are suspended on stretched wires 3, secured at their ends to a flat board 1 and tightened by wedges 6 which are afterwards secured by screws or other means. The board is prevented from bending by a strengthening piece 2 which affords a means of attaching the device to a window surround. Metal rods 4, 7 are inserted in the board and in the wedges to take the pressure of the wires. The wires are arranged to overlap at the centre as shown. Means may be provided to take up stretch. such means may consist of concavities in the inclined faces of the wedges co-operating with screw means, for pulling the wires up into the concavities.
