Abstract

540,560. Harps &c. WALDER, G. Nov. 21, 1939, No. 30511. [Class 88 (ii)] In a tuning device for stringed musical instruments such as harps the string engages with a slot 22 in a block or body 21 and bears upon bolts 24, 25. Between these bolts the string can be depressed, and so tightened, by operating an eccentric or cam lever 31 against which bears a micrometer screw 32 with locknut 35. A spring blade 30 is arranged between the eccentric and the string, and the block is fitted with projections 21a for engagement with corresponding recesses in the instrument, the projections being of sufficient height to prevent contact of the string with the instrument.
