Stringed instruments, tuning-pins for.-A tuning- pin of an instrument of the violin type is divided into two parts a, b each with its own pinion c for operation by a worm, so that two strings can be carried independently thereon. The parts are maintained in alignment by an extension a<1> on the part a, entering the part b, a grubscrew f also projecting into a groove h in the extension a<1>. A washer e prevents the strings from overlapping. A three-stringed instrument may thus be converted into one with four strings.
