Abstract
540,063. Toilet soap. LEVER BROS. & UNILEVER, Ltd. (Bodman, J. W.). May 17, 1940, No. 8851. [Class 91] In preparing toilet soap by agitating and working a soap mass in a closed vessel at temperatures of 65-125‹C. and pressures up to 100 lbs. per square inch, releasing the mass to solidify and forming the mass into bars or cakes, the lathering properties are increased by using a soap mass containing 10-15 per cent. of a soda soap produced from oils which are liquid at ordinary temperatures, have iodine values of 78- 145 and are free from glycerides having three or more double bonds, such as soya bean oil, cottonseed oil, corn oil, castor oil or partially hardened whale oil. The moisture content during the working is 8.25 per cent. Air or other gas may be worked with the mass to impart floating properties. The apparatus described in U.S.A. Specifications 1,200,700 and 2,048,286 may be used. Specification 539,718 is referred to.
