[Class 47 (ii)] Fires are extinguished by means of inorganic precipitates which are produced by means of solutions at a point or points beyond the pumps on the way to the burning body. For example, two or more simple or compound solutions are put under pressure and sprinkled from two convergent nozzles, or brought together at one nozzle only. As an example, solution of calcium chloride and sodium carbonate are used to give a precipitate of calcium carbonate.
