[Classes 16 and 146 (i)] A binder-post for loose leaves comprises two flanged or headed pins or rods 1 with ratchet teeth 2 enclosed by a tube of spring metal so as to allow the rods to approach together but not to recede. Each rod is of semi-circular sections with inclined ends 3 and the tube consists of two split telescoping members 5, 6. When unslotted tubes are used, the rods are flattened at the sides remote from the teeth.
