Abstract
536,397. Permanent waving of hair. SARTORY, P. April 12, 1940, No. 6649. [Class 131 ] In means for permanent waving of the kind comprising a hair-clamp consisting of a pair of clamping bars covered with flexible insulating material and provided with end brackets for receiving a curling rod upon which the hair is curled, the clamping surfaces of the flexible coverings are each formed by a number of independent adjacent sections so as to permit the sections to adjust themselves to the local variations in the thickness of the hair tress. The clamp comprises channelled bars 1, la hinged at one end and adapted to be latched at the other by metal members 4, 5 both of which also form the brackets for supporting the curler rod. The indiarubber coverings 2 may be formed as a number of independent adjacent sections or as shown slits may be cut in the adjacent clamping edges to form independent adjacent sections 3 along the edges.
